Working with Keywords

You want to get your website ranked in a good position in the search engines, one way to do that is by users typing in the name of your website into theĀ  browser. The second way is for users to go with a keyword. A keyword is a word or phrase that specifically have to do with your site. For example, if you have a website about swimming pools, then your keyword would be swimming pool or pools. So when a user types in the word pools into the search engine they will find your site.

A great way to choose your keywords is to choose a subject and then look up the keyword and see how many times it is searched for in the engines by suing a keyword tool. Just type in keyword tool and you will get some results choose Google Keywords it is the best. Or another way is to put your self in the place of the user . If you wanted to find your website what keywords would make sense to you. Then you can also ask other people what they think of when they want to look up a site on the subject that you have chosen.

Once you have established what keywords you are going to use, it is very important not to over stuff your content with the keywords. Only a very small percentage of your content should have keywords. But usingĀ  too many keyword the search engine will actually penalize you for what they call keyword stuffing. Try to only use the keyword about 5 percent on each page. Mention these words only about 5 or 6 times on a page. The idea is to get noticed by the search engines not get punished by them.
