Web traffic is the amount of users that you get to come to your website. If you have a brand new site then it is your job to see that you get the traffic you want. When the spider from the search engine comes to crawl your site the first time out you will not get a great result. One of those ways to improve your ranking is to increase your traffic. There are several ways that you can do that. One of the most popular ways to increase traffic is to your site is to place your site in a web directory. Though this method has come under fire recently. There are millions of web directories already on the web, if you can find a popular directory then place your site there but you may have noticed that hundreds of others have done the same thing. Another way to increase traffic is to find another website to link to. Find a site that is very similar to or exactly the same as far as subject goes and write an email to that person and them for a link on their site. Some site owners will not have a problem with it and will provide you a link if you will provide them with one. Others will require a payment every month. If that site has great traffic which you can check through Alexa.com then it will be worth it in order for you to increase your traffic. Web traffic does not happen overnight. You really have to have a lot of patience in order for you to have a website. Search engine optimization is very important to a website because it is a way to get your website noticed by the search engines. SEO is a method used by webmasters who want to get their websites a high rank in the search engines. What happens is that when you pout a site on the web, a bot or a spider sent out from the search engines. Then this bot will crawl the site and then they will transmit the data back to the search engine and based on the content and the subject of the site , the search engine will give you a high rank the first time out. Now you have a few weeks, in order to get your website in better condition so the search engines will change your ranking. You can either try to SEO yourself or you can hire someone to help you with that. Your best bet is to try to do it your self first maybe you can improve on the content or maybe add a few more graphics. When the bots come around again they may like the changes that you made or they may not. If you have not improved at all in the rankings then you may want to consider having an outside SEO come in a take a look. They may see something that you don’t see. It could be something very simple or it may take some work. The SEO will analyze what you need to improve on your site and then they will suggest to you how to fix it. You may end up with an extra expense but it will be worth it when you get more traffic because of the SEO which will increase your search engine ranking as well.
