Getting a Link Strategy
Getting links back to your site can be a time consuming and sometimes hard thing to accomplish. The key to getting links is to look at you site from another webmaster’s perspective and show the advantages of having them link to you. Get creative with it because if you can’t explain the advantages of a link to your page, I doubt someone will see it on their own.
Getting links to your site is important to rank high in any search engine. Google though, being the widest used, also has an added value of getting a link from a site with Page Rank. Like all concepts with Google, nothing is 100% guaranteed but it is widely accepted idea that getting a link from a site with higher PR than you will help your site. Don’t turn a site down because of low PR though, PR doesn’t put money in your pocket…traffic does. Besides, everyone starts with the same PR and if you link early to a nice site, the benefits will only increase. Last thing about links is that you want to link to sites with like content as yours and stay away from link farms. Listing in directories is a good way to get links to your site. There are a lot of programs out there that will that can do this automatically as well as services that will do so many directories for you for a fee but I am an old fashion webmaster and prefer to build my links naturally. Here is a list of 9000 directories for you to choose from. Some free some not, but all worthwhile. As for me, I stick to the free submission ones for now and since I use them for linking purposes, don’t see a need for paying for submissions. Popularity: 4%

Common Search Engine Problems and Solutions
Stick With HTML Many webmasters get a little overzealous when building their pages. Heavily scripted pages are hard, and sometimes totally impossible, for search engine spiders to read. This causes pages to not be picked up by search engines, losing valuable traffic. This problem can be easily avoided by using HTML to build your pages, rather than denser scripts, such as Java. If you can’t find your page indexed with the search engines, rethink your scripting before assuming that you have been banned. Popularity: 3%
