About Google PageRank

Some Questions about Google PageRank

1. What is PageRank?

PageRank is a numeric value that is assigned to a page in the Google index that represents how important a page is on the web. When one page links to another page, Google puts a value to that link, consider it like a vote for your site. This ‘voting’ system works in two ways that will directly affect your sites PR. A link (vote) from a site Google trusts and deems important will add value to your PR rank, a link from a site that is considered bad by Google could have the opposite effect. Before you go out and randomly build links, it would be worth a little extra effort to check out the site you are getting link from. Here is a site you can check to see if a site is banned by Google (an obvious bad link). Also if you use the Google Toolbar and the PR is grayed out on a site, it could be an indicated that Google doesn’t like the site. PageRank is part of the way Google derives is rankings, so paying attention to who links to you can have an effect on the way your site is listed.

Affiliate Marketing vs. Google Adsense

There is a lot of discussion about the money that can be
made from Google Adsense. Is there any truth to the claim that Adsense sites
can earn higher revenues than an affiliate-marketing site? Let’s look into both options and see which
would be a better for your online business.

Google Adsense

Getting people to pay you to advertise on your site, basically, that is what
Adsense is. Search around and eventually
you will see the “Ads by Google” text and the links somewhere in relation to
it. It is also income with very little maintenance
involved. So are Google Adsense sites your best option?

Google Adsense sites (the plus side):

Low maintenance – You can create a good content page with Google Adsense
inserted that does not have to update often, if at all. If you do update content though, Adsense will
adjust the ads it displays based on the new keywords (if any).

Great for sites full of information. If you have a site that can not find a
product with an affiliate program related to the content. Google Adsense will work for you.

Since Adsense sites are low maintenance, they can be
duplicated rather easily with new sites with different content, which has to
potential of increasing income.
